The church ceremony takes place at Bazylika Kolegiacka św. Mikołaja Bpa w Grudziądzu, and starts at 3:00PM sharp (in local Polish time). For full details on how to get there, please see our guide on getting to the venue.
Please ensure you arrive 15-30 minutes early so that you have sufficient time to park the car and find a seat inside the church. Parking is available on-site, but it is limited. There are various side streets you can park on for free, less than a 5-min walk away from the church.
The ceremony will last 1 hour and finish at 4PM. Most of it will be in Polish, but the most important bit (us getting married) will be in English. Note for the ladies - if your dress is strapless or sleeves, please make sure you have a jacket or a shawl to cover your shoulders inside the church.
After the ceremony, guests give the married couple their wishes and gifts outside the church. If the weather is poor (it won’t be!), this will be done indoors at the wedding venue.
Once you arrive at the venue, please speak to reception to check in and get the key to your room, you may also drop off your luggage. We will be having our wedding photoshoot during that time, so you will likely arrive before us.
You are welcome to get a drink upon arrival, which is all paid for because it’s a Polish wedding. Dinner will be served once all the guests are seated, consisting of 6-7 main dishes on each table, as well as salads, vegetables and potatoes.
There will be main courses and desserts - including a selection of cakes and fruit - served throughout the night. These include main dishes, and a selection of hot and cold dishes at various intervals as the evening progresses. We will publish the full menu closer to the wedding.
Guests with allergies or any dietary requirements will be accommodated, but we must be notified ahead of the time to arrange this.
The party lasts until 6am the following morning, however it isn’t expected for everyone to stay until then.
